  1.                         THE GLOBAL SEARCH FUNCTION

  3.     The Buddy System For AmigaDOS has a global search feature.  This will
  4. allow you to search all of the text files for a particular string of text.
  5. The AmigaDOS commands, SEARCH & SORT will actually be used for this
  6. function, so, they must be in your C:  directory.  When the function
  7. completes, a standard Buddy System Text file will be displayed.  This text
  8. will list all of the text that contained the text string that you
  9. specified.  The file itself is called:
  10.  
  11.                               `T:SearchText`
  12.  
  13. You can view the contents of this file (if the file exists as a result of a
  14. previous search) at any time by clicking the above, highlighted name. You
  15. can also use the BookMark function while you are displaying the file, so
  16. that you can repeatedly call it up by using the Return key.

  18.                To access the global search function, Press:

  20.                               Ctrl  Spacebar
  21.  
  22.                         and enter a search string.

  25. NOTE:  This process may take a significant amount of time, if you are
  26.       operating from a floppy drive system, due to disk access speed.

  28. Once The Search is completed you can start clicking on the file names in
  29. the list. This will take you into each of the text files where a match was
  30. found. Use:

  32.                            Left Alt   Spacebar 
  33.  
  34. to search for the word you specified (The global search word is kept
  35. separate from the search word used during normal text display). Each time
  36. you press Left Alt & Spacebar, the search will continue through the current
  37. text.
